Too Good for Violence K-8

Too Good for Violence K-8 is a universal, school-based violence prevention and character education program that teaches the skills and builds the character students need to treat others respectfully and get along peacefully.

How it works

Too Good for Violence offers separate, developmentally appropriate curricula for each grade level, kindergarten through grade 8. This instructional design enables teachers to scaffold students’ developing capacities to resolve conflicts, respond assertively and interact positively with others. Engaging, age-appropriate activities help them learn personal and interpersonal skills such as self-control, empathy and bullying prevention.

Enhances protective factors

Too Good for Violence focuses on risk factors that can be positively affected in the classroom: poor social skills, peer rejection, and inappropriate social behaviors. It enhances protective factors by providing opportunities for pro-social involvement; establishing positive norms, including healthy beliefs and clear standards; promoting bonding to pro-social peers; and increasing personal and social skills which research has associated with positive behaviors and student success.
