How it works |
Children are influenced by all the environments in which they live. To be truly effective, prevention programs must reach children not only in schools, but in after-school and out-of-school settings as well. Too Good for Drugs & Violence After-School Activities reinforces school-based prevention programming by emphasizing the same skills and concepts in a different context. The program includes games, songs and stories tailored to children’s interests and developmental level. Activities are designed for two distinct groups: ages 5-9 and ages 10-13. |
Enhances protective factorsToo Good for Drugs & Violence After-School Activities focuses on developing skills that support children’s abilities to adapt to changing social contexts and resist influences that lead to risk-taking behaviors. Participating children evidence significant and positive improvements in both personal and interpersonal skills. |
